Small Works 2008 ASBA Conference Exhibition

Deadline: September 15, 2008
Each registered attendee at the Conference may enter one “Small Work” for exhibition during the conference. The exhibition will be open to the public at the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens for the duration of the conference.
Eligibility: Any registered attendee at the 2008 ASBA conference.
Jurors: This exhibition is not juried.
Subject: Any botanical subject.
Medium: Any two-dimensional original medium.
Image size limitation: The maximum – no exceptions – outside perimeter of the frame must be 47 inches (119 cm) or less. (Add the outside length of each side. The total of all four sides must equal no more than 47 inches.)
Number of submissions: One.
Entry Form: Include: Botanical name, common name (if you wish), medium and artist’s name and contact information. This same information must be on the back of the “Small Work,” lower left hand corner. Download a PDF of the entry form, and mail it to Leslie Walker, 520 North Juanita Avenue, Redondo Beach, CA 90277-2926 by September 15, or submit it here by email by the same date.
Presentation: Frame: narrow wood in brown or gold (per ASBA standards) or narrow metal, neutral mat, Plexiglas glazing, wired for hanging. Works not meeting these standards will not be hung.
Artwork Delivery: Shipped to Leslie Walker, 520 North Juanita Avenue, Redondo Beach, CA 90277-2926 to arrive by October 15, 2008. Works bubble-wrapped only, no Styrofoam peanuts. Works packed in peanuts will not be opened or hung. Original packaging will not be saved.
Artwork Return: Artists will pick up their “Small Work” at the ASBA Conference banquet. You can also donate your artwork to the Silent Auction. See the Silent Auction information in the "About the Conference" section.
Awards: A panel of jurors will give awards to selected artwork, and members will vote for a Members’ Choice Award.
