Getting to and from the conference with ease!
ASBA Conference dates: October 27-29, 2011
Join us if you can on October 26 for the pre-conference workshop with Jean Emmons at the Newton Marriott or a day trip, the “Flavor of Boston”!
Buses will go between the venues: For all field trips and events, ASBA will provide buses to go between venues. However, if you stay in a hotel other than the Boston Marriott Newton Hotel, the ASBA will not be responsible for your transportation.
For day trips, there is Car Rental at the hotel from Hertz , 2345 Commonwealth Avenue, Newton, Massachusetts 02466 Phone: 1-617-244-0801.
Post-conference classes to be held at the Wentworth by the Sea resort in New Hampshire. Check your calendar carefully when booking. We hope you can come early and stay late!

Getting to the Conference:
You have many options for travel to and from the Boston Marriott Newton and Wentworth by the Sea. Both hotels are located near major airports and highways. Whatever your favorite mode of transportation – airplane, car, bus or train – you easily plan your travel to Boston.
By Air to Logan International Airport:

Renting A Car?
Driving directions: Follow signs to Ted Williams Tunnel/Route 90 W (Mass Pike). Continue on Route 90 W to Exit 15. Follow signs to Route 30 East. Hotel is 1/2 mile on the left.

Take the “T” – MBTA Subway System:
$2 (one way) exact change; Fares and Passes; travel time: approximately 90 minutes.
Take the Silver Line
A bus that runs thru the city streets and special subway tunnels too – inbound to South Station.
At South Station, switch to Red Line subway.
Board Red Line Train toward Alewife and get off in 2 stops at Park Street Station.
At Park Street Station, switch to Green Line subway.
Board Green Line “D branch=Riverside” and ride trolley all the way to the end, Riverside station.
(2 miles) The Boston Newton Marriott provides a free shuttle service from Riverside Station to the hotel. It operates between the hours of 6am to noon and 2pm to 8pm. It is a 7-passenger van and there is no charge. Call the hotel upon arrival at Riverside and the hotel will send the shuttle to get you and bring you to the hotel.
By Car to Boston Marriott Newton
The Boston Marriott Newton is located near the intersection of two major highways, Rt 90 and Rt 95, at 2345 Commonwealth Avenue, Newton, Massachusetts 02466. For a map and directions.
Parking is available at the Hotel for $9 per night.
By Train to Boston Marriott Newton
There are two Amtrak stations both approximately 13 miles away from the Boston Marriott Newton. To plan your trip, visit Amtrak’s website page Easy-Booking Tips for Long-Distance Travel.
Train Option 1:
Station Name: South Station Amtrak (BOS), 2 South Station, Summer & Atlantic Avenue, Boston, Massachusetts
Distance: 12.8 MI from South Station Amtrak to Boston Marriott Newton.
From the train station you may take:
Taxi (one way): on meter, approximately $50.00
MTBA Subway System: $2 (one way)
At South Station, switch to Red Line subway.

Station Name: Route 128 Amtrak Station (RTE), 50 University Avenue, Westwood, Massachusetts. This is the Amtrak Train Station south one stop before Boston’s South Station.
Distance: 12.8 MI from the station to the Boston Marriott Newton.
From the train station you may choose:
Car service or taxi cab to hotel (12 miles, about 20 minutes). One such service is Knight’s Limo: 800-822-5456. Examples of their services:
- Lincoln Town car: $101 one way
- "VIP Van" for a small group: eg: $104 all inclusive for 3 or 4 sharing the van, exclusive to your group. Call in advance to arrange your ride to the Boston Marriott Newton.
- "London Taxi of Norwood": Call and arrange your ride in advance and they will be waiting for you: 781-440-0007. Fare to hotel estimated between $38-46, plus gratuity (depends on traffic). This company also waits outside on a regular basis if you do not call in advance, but calling ahead is recommended to guarantee your ride.
By Bus to Riverside Station, Newton, MA and Boston Marriott Newton
Three interstate bus companies stop at Riverside Station in Newton, MA, only 2 miles and a free hotel shuttle ride from the Newton Marriott. Post-Conference Classes To Be Held At
Wentworth By The Sea
Sunday, October 30 – Tuesday, November 1, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
ASBA has arranged for a private bus to take people from the Boston Marriott Newton to Wentworth by the Sea (unless you are driving your own car). You will need to make arrangements for your departure home from New Hampshire.

Directions to Portsmouth by Air, Land and Sea
Wentworth is located less than an hour north of Boston's Logan Airport, and 45 minutes from Portland (ME) Jetport and Manchester (NH) Airport.
Manchester is Northern New England's largest commercial airport and offers convenient non-stop and direct service from most major US cities.
Pease International Tradeport is located 10 minutes away in Portsmouth, NH.
From All Points (Directions by Land)
Take Exit 3 off of I-95 North or Exit 3B off I-95 South.
Take a right on to Route 33 East.
From I-95 North take a right at the 4th set of lights or from I-95 South take a right at the 6th set of lights onto Peverly Hill Road (not marked, there will be a baseball field on your left and a cemetery on your right.) Continue through two sets of traffic lights; Peverly Hill Road will become Elwyn Road.
At traffic circle, take the third exit onto Route 1A North.
Take a right onto Route 1B; there will be a large Wentworth by the Sea Hotel sign on the right.
Continue 1 mile on Route 1B past the Country Club. Wentworth by the Sea Hotel is just over the bridge, on the right.
Departure from Wentworth by the Sea after Post-Conference Workshops:
Wentworth by the Sea has a small 6-passenger van that will take guests to the Portsmouth Transportation Center, depending on prior arrangements.
Taxi from WBTS to Portsmouth Transportation Center is approximately $22.
From the Portsmouth Transportation Center—frequent buses to Logan Airport, South Station in Boston, and NYC.
Cost of Bus from Portsmouth Transportation Center to Logan Airport is $24 currently.
This bus service is used by the locals and runs frequently.
