Conference Lodging
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Boston Marriott Newton at 2345 Commonwealth Avenue, Newton, MA. Located on 22 acres along the scenic Charles River, the hotel is located near Boston College, Brandeis University, Bentley College, and many historic sites in Boston. The hotel has a business center, an indoor swimming pool, and a 24-hour fitness center available.
Booking a reservation at the Boston Marriott Newton for the Conference
Room rates are $165 per night US, plus any applicable taxes. You must ask for the American Society of Botanical Artists block to receive the Conference rate. The ASBA conference rates also apply to the pre-conference one-day workshop with Jean Emmons at the Boston Marriott Newton.
Rooms fill up quickly. Please make your reservations ASAP. For reservations: The Boston Marriott Newton prefers ASBA members to call in their reservations at 800.228.9290 or 617.969.1000.
This room rate is effective through October 5. Individual reservations must be made no later than October 5 or until our block is filled. After that, the special rate will not be offered and reservations will be accepted on a space available basis only.
Once an individual reservation has been made, any changes should be made directly with the hotel. Reservations cancelled less than 48 hours prior to arrival and no-shows will be billed to the individual.
Check-in at the Boston Marriott Newton is 4 p.m. Check-out time is 12 noon.
Buses will go between venues
A bus will go from the Boston Marriott Newton to all venues and field trips. If you are staying in another hotel, the ASBA will not be responsible for your transportation.

Post Conference Lodging
The two Post-Conference three-day workshops will be held at the historic and luxurious Wentworth by the Sea, 588 Wentworth Avenue, New Castle, New Hampshire. Next to historic Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Wentworth by the Sea overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and is located on the island of New Castle, New Hampshire’s oldest settlement. The fully renovated hotel has a full-service spa, indoor pool and complimentary in-room high-speed internet and business center for hotel guests.
Transportation from Boston Marriott Newton to Wentworth-by-the-Sea
Bus transportation will be provided from the Boston Marriott Newton to the resort for ASBA members that have signed up for post-conference classes and their guests. A bus from the Boston Newton Marriott will leave at 9 a.m. and should arrive at Wentworth by the Sea by 10:30 a.m. Baggage and art supplies can be off-loaded from bus and stored in baggage room or locked in classroom. Carolyn Payzant is hosting a brunch at her home, a 5-minute walk from the Wentworth by the Sea. Classes start at 1 p.m.
Booking a reservation at Wentworth by the Sea for Post-Conference Workshop
A block of rooms has been reserved specifically for the ASBA at Wentworth by the Sea. Standard room rates are $169 per night US, plus any applicable taxes. Suites are available for $338 per night US, plus any applicable taxes, with two bedrooms and two baths. As with the Boston Marriott Newton above, you must ask for the American Society of Botanical Artists block to receive the Conference rate.
