Bruce Wilson (Minnesota)

Bruce Wilson received his BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and is the 2007 recipient of the Anne Ophelia Todd Dowden Grant from the ASBA. This project involved field research in Scotland and creating artwork of the wild heathers growing in the Highlands. It will be used as his Independent Study Project in the Certificate Program through the Minnesota School of Botanical Art.

As an artist, his botanical work has been included in international shows including this years ASBA / Horticultural Society of New York’s 11th Annual International Juried Exhibition. He has been in that exhibit the past two years receiving “Best of Show” in 2006. He does freelance artwork including magazine, animation, and book illustration. He works in graphite, watercolor, pastels, pen and ink and carbon dust.

Bruce teaches botanical art at the Minnesota School of Botanical Art, the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, and has taught botanical watercolor at the Burren College of Art in County Clare, Ireland.
