Elaine Searle (United Kingdom)
Elaine Searle is a bachelor of arts – and came to botanical painting from a successful career in graphic design. This design background informs her approach to painting. Botanical accuracy is key, but she is fascinated by the drama created by light on form, and also strives to compose paintings which will have great wall appeal.
Elaine's watercolors were included in the 12th International Exhibition of the Hunt Institute. She also has paintings in the permanent collection of the Hunt, HRH Prince of Wales’ Highgrove Florilegium and private collections in the US and UK.
Inspired by the tuition methods of her mentor Anne Marie Evans, Elaine is passionate about encouraging others to explore botanical painting. She runs short courses and workshops for beginners and intermediates.
